Our FIRST visitors take in the local sites!

Heidelberg Castle

On Monday afternoon, we welcomed to Germany our first visitors from the USA.  My Uncle Dennis and Aunt Peggy arrived in Switzerland on the 30th of May for a wedding and were able to convince their friend’s husband to give them a lift over to our neck of the woods, prior to heading back to the USA on the 6th of June (he even found us without using navigation:)!!  It was a strange and very comforting feeling knowing that already on the 30th, I had family within close proximity to me.  It meant so much to me that they made this huge effort to find the time in their schedule to come visit us.  Prior to their visit, I freshened up my “tour guide” skills by ensuring I knew where the best places to park & eat were and knew the easiest ways to see some of the most popular and well-known local sites.  We had great time with one another and thoroughly enjoyed catching up and taking in some of the sites together.  Thanks again Dennis and Peg for visiting us- it will be something we will always remember!

Walking the cobblestone streets of "Old Heidelberg"- probably my favorite local spot!  I could spend hours just walking the streets...shopping and watching all of the different people.

Good-bye family... thanks and we will see you back in the USA:)!
