Oktoberfest 2012

Last evening, one of Matt’s good college buddies, Tim Foley, arrived at our doorstep; we were all very excited to see a familiar face!!  Tim was the first of three college buddies to arrive for “Oktoberfest 2012;” Matt and Tim picked up Nick and Dan this morning at the Frankfurt Airport.  Matt called me approximately 15-minutes ago to say that they made it to Munich and were in search of purchasing their Lederhosens.  I am very envious of my husband right now…reliving his college days at the world’s largest fair on an absolute perfect autumn evening.  But though I am envious, I am also very happy for him; he is truly creating a once in a lifetime memory during his 4-day weekend Oktoberfest celebration.  Enjoy Munich tonight & tomorrow and Stuttgart on Sunday & Monday boys!!  I cannot wait to see some pictures!!

The girls had not met “Uncle Tim” before:).  He surprised them by bringing along some American brownies.  The girls enjoyed making the brownies with Tim after dinner out at one of our favorite nearby German restaurants.  Of course the girls loved Tim; he is quite the character, it is hard not to love him.

I am envisioning Matt, Tim, Nick and Dan to look like in a few hours.  Matt took our camera, so I hope to have some true pictures to share by Wednesday!!

My company this "Oktoberfest 2012" weekend…I could not be any happier!

It is hard to fathom that each year, more than 6 million people from around the world come to Munich to partake in this 16-day Oktoberfest celebration! Though it is not going to work for the girls and I to attend Oktoberfest this year, we were able to experience the celebration last year- just minus the liters and liters of beer, lederhosens and dirndls (picture above and below).
