HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my sweet Britta. She brings so much added happiness and pure joy to my life. She is truly a gift directly from the Lord. She is beautiful, independent, funny, curious, social, loveable and did I already say independent ( I mean seriously, she insists of doing EVERYTHING on her own- BESIDES using the potty:).
Britta found out this year that one of the benefits of living abroad is getting to celebrate your birthday TWICE! Her first birthday party was on New Years Day in Iowa! She received a Dora bike that she cannot wait to use in May and some fur-real baby kittens that traveled to Germany with us!! Then today, she had her second birthday party. When we woke up today and said, “Happy Birthday Britta,” her sister of course had to ask, “is today REALLLLY Britta's birthday??” BUT, I am confident that Elle is going to enjoy celebrating her birthday twice in May too (in Germany May 2nd AND in Iowa the end of May)!!
We celebrated Britta’s birthday by attending a local Fasching Parade (pictures to come Tuesday evening), eating at a favorite restaurant (Pizza Hut), unwrapping a few gifts and completing FaceTime with Papa Donavon, Nana Becky, Aunt TC and Uncle Blake and talking on the phone to Papa Marlyn, Nana Karen, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Brandy, cousins Hannah and Garrison. I think I can confidently type that Britta had a very special and fun 2nd birthday. THANK YOU to everyone who made it so very special for her.
Now onto Elle’s birthday… who is ALREADY completing a lot of her pre-party planning 3 months in advance (i.e. theme, food, guest list, location:)!! Fun times!
