In May 2011, our family of four moved to Mannheim, Germany for an unforgettable expat assignment. Living abroad came with its challenges—adjusting to a new culture, language, and way of life—but it also gave us memories to last a lifetime and brought us closer together. Looking back, the only thing that could’ve made it even more meaningful would’ve been having Ava with us, but the Lord blessed us with her after we returned home in April 2013. Prost to the journey!

The FUN of adding the Christmas Toys to the Play Area
Somehow, ALL of the girls’ Christmas gifts made it to Germany, but then we did check 310 lbs. worth of luggage and had numerous gifts in our carry-ons! The girls were pleased to see that Mommy and Daddy had some gifts waiting for them in Germany too:). We had fun adding the news toys to the basement play area. Elle already hosted a play date at her home last Saturday, where she was able to show her friends some of her favorite new gifts (i.e. Fur-Real Cats, Baby Alive Dolls, dress up clothes, crafts, etc.). She was hoping there would be time to watch one of her new Disney movies, but we ran out of time (thus we had Family Movie Night Saturday evening). We feel so fortunate to have a finished basement to play in since the weather is often very rainy but warm. But we feel even more fortunate to have met such great new friends in Germany!
