Today, we had a play date with our friends Kari, Ellie and Will. We met at the Neckarwiese Park in Heidelberg. This park includes over five acres of land, the largest urban green space in Germany. It had a wonderful children’s playground that all of the kids had fun playing on. The girls and I have found that the German playgrounds have very unique play equipment. Sometimes, even the Moms have to think… “how is this played on?” We also had a picnic by the Neckar River, but it was very chilly. We had to leave only after a few hours, due to us all freezing! There was an area where the children could play in the water, but it was way too cold for this today (high of 65 degrees). We will definitely have to go back when it is a lot warmer!
Tomorrow, the girls and I are very excited to welcome Daddy back home! We will go into Mannheim in the afternoon to pick him up.
Well, I think we will all be able to sleep good tonight; the house is cool for the FIRST time. Though, it feels like fall outside and not summer.
