Weekend Recap: Date Night & Family Time

Good Sunday Family and Friends!   We had a lovely weekend…we stayed busy but found time to do some relaxing too!!

Friday: Matt and I had our first date night in Germany.  We choose a lovely and romantic Greek restraurant called Waldhaus el Greco.  It was located about 15-minutes from our home.  With it being Kim’s first night with the girls, we did not want to be too far from home.  Though, when we got home, BOTH girls reported that they had A LOT of fun with Kim.  They had went for a stroller ride to get ice cream (Kim had to RUN back due to it starting to rain- the girls reported that they LOVED the fast stroller ride back home:), made home-made pizza, played dress up and took a long bath.  I think everyone enjoyed their Friday night:)!!

Saturday: We once again “had” to go to Toys R’ Us to get one more bike helmet (see both girls below riding their bikes!).  Then, we went to a local field of flowers where we could pick and cut down our own flowers.  Elle has been asking to go to this field since we moved; we have to drive past it to get on the Autobahn.  We then took our beautiful flowers home and placed them in a vase on the dining room table.  Elle LOVES looking and smelling them…she constantly says, “these flowers are so very beautiful!!”  Then in the evening, we grilled and I painted the girls toenails and fingernails.  I was only intending to paint Elle’s (I thought Britta was too little), but Britta INSISTED that I paint hers too.  She sat PERFECTLY…and kept blowing on them.  She had to keep showing Matt and was just DELIGHTED with the color on her fingernails and toenails.  It was SO CUTE!

Cruising to Toys R' Us...both girls "needed" to wear their shades!

Sunday: Before church, Matt started a new family tradition for us...he cooks breakfast on Sunday mornings, this including his home-made waffles:)!!  After breakfast, we had to hurry and get ready!! Again, the International Church service was VERY DIFFERENT from what we were accustomed to attending in the USA, but once again, we are trying very hard to adapt to our new culture.  We still have two more International churches to visit and then we will decide which church best fits the needs of our family.  After church, we went out to eat at a delicious Chinese restaurant.   The front entry, of the restaurant, had a small fountain with LARGE fish swimming in it; the girls LOVED looking at the fish!  Then, after nap, we officially purchased me my own set up wheels…and now, our family owns two mini-vans!  Matt and I never thought we would own one mini-van, and now we own two!  We were offered a great offer from another John Deere family that basically, we could not turn down.  They are now moving back to the States and wanted to sell it to a family they knew, rather than to the dealership and get reimbursed by John Deere.  So, I should have my new wheels by the end of this week.  Then tonight, we once again grilled…and then relaxed as a family.

We were glad that we delayed our trip to Switzerland by one week due to the temperatures continuing to be VERY cold all weekend long.  Today, the HIGH was 61 degrees!

Tomorrow, the girls and I do not have too much planned.  It is suppose to rain off and on, so hopefully, we can at least take a stroller ride to one of the parks.

Good Night…sweet dreams my dear family and friends…
